Quality portal – Test Manager moves to center quality management

Testersuite helps you as a Test Manager to get contoll of your test proces. That is great but your test proces is obvisouly not an isolated proces. There is a lot of common ground with other it processes. Quality goes beyond the test process. Therefore it is important that the test tooling you use respond to this. At Testersuite we understand this as no one else. The result of that is that you can use Testersuite as your quality portal.

Spider in the web

An important question for you as a Test Manager is how to become the spider in the web? This is where it comes to your tooling. After all, if you want to make a move to the center of quality management, say the Quality Portal, integration with other tools is a necessity. By integrating with other IT processes that determine quality management, you increase the grip and control on the quality processes. Let’s make a start by looking at what the playing field looks like and where the ‘quick wins‘ are with the already existing links in Testersuite.

Quality Portal – The playing field

Which processes then determine the playing field within quality management?

To give you an impression, we have listed a few examples:

  • Changes that are implemented using a change process must be tested
  • Requirements that are included in the requirement management process are ultimately realized and tested
  • User stories that are realized within scrum teams must be tested. Not only within the scrum team but also acceptance (testing) by the business is important.
  • Test defects from the test process must be solved in the development (scrum) process

Testersuite is easy to connect with tools that are used within other IT processes – as mentioned above. For example, we offer standard links with frequently used tools. For example our integration with TOPdesk and JIRA.

We are fully expanding to new standard links, for example with Microsoft TFS and Servicenow. And it does not stop there. For example, in Testersuite we also offer standard links with tools for automated regression testing; and we extend this further …

But to be honest, given the number of tools in the market, we can not offer standard links for all tools that our customers use. However, we strive to make the integration with tools – for which we do not (yet) have a standard link – easily accessible. That’s why we developed a REST API (Application Programming Interface) at Testersuite. This offers you as a test manager the possibility to make links with tools that you and / or your colleagues use in the test and quality process. Do you want to know how this works? Then contact us. We are happy to help you.

RES API uitleg

What is a REST API?

With a REST API we unlock data from Testersuite so that it can be used in other systems and / or tools and vice versa. Roughly you can call it a technical interface between two or more systems. If you want to know more about the operation of this REST API, please contact us.

What is your opinion?

Having a mature test process does not mean that you have grown up. We not only tell this to all our customers, we also apply it on ourselves. It is not entirely coincidental that more and more quality managers are catching on to the modern test process. We see a development in the shift from mature test management to quality management; or if you like so the Quality Portal. That is why we continue to develop at Testersuite.

It is therefore very important for us to come into contact with you as a test manager. We’d love to hear your opinion and your vision on the test subject. For example, we have had great talks with test managers at Radboud UMC and Action before. Do you want to let us know what you think or do you want to know more about Testersuite? Or do you want to qualify for a ‘Let’s talk about test’? Please contact us via this link.
